Good afternoon everyone, Andrew here from S&D Paving in Epsom, Surrey.
We are here in Hazen Way in Epsom, and I just thought I’d do you a finished video. We have just grouted this new portion of patio we laid and we laid a new turf lawn as well. So I’m just going to walk you through the final job to give you an idea and an overview of what we carried out here.
So we came to this job a couple of weeks ago. We completely removed the old patio, we’ve done our excavation, we’ve done our ground base, our concrete base, done our setup.
Venetian Grey London Stone Paving
And then our guys laid in some Venetian Grey paving from London Stone, thanks to Jamie for the supply. So this is Venetian Grey London Stone, 900 by 600 porcelain tiles.
As you can see here, in this corner, we’ve done two new steps. The customer wanted a rendered finish on the bottom of the steps, so he can paint it the same as the plinth of the house, or the same colour as the tiles.
We’ve done a recessed manhole cover, as you can see. We’ve kept to all the lines of our tiles nicely.
Walkways Around the House
We’ve got some drains incorporated in there. We’ve got two walkways, well a walkway right round this garden really, we’ve got one down this side, a small area there and a walkway down.
It’s quite a nice little garden this, to be honest, it’s quite a nice layout. We’ve got a lovely enclosed perspex roof on this, it’s a nice little enclosed area that you can sit in on a summer’s evening and take in the complete garden, it’s a really nice area to sit in this.
As you can see from here, you can catch the whole garden from this area. There used to be a step up on to this, which was not very nice before, so we have completely done away with that, and we have recessed it all to one area.
New Turf Lawn
The customer is brilliant with his plants. A new turf lawn, and then the pathway goes right round, we cut a portion tight on a lovely curve here. And then your pathway goes right back up, and finishes back round to the property.
