The team at S&D Paving have been working on this residential landscape for several months now and things are shaping up. Based in Sandhurst Berkshire, we have delivered a complete makeover to this retirement home site, by creating a more attractive, safe and functional area for the retirement homes.
For those following the progress of our work, this project update will make it seem as though we are working on a brand new site as so much has changed. Homes are now present on the site and it is shaping up to be a beautiful living environment for retirees.
Our Progress So Far
The changes to the site are incredible and this is a testament to our amazing team. We have completely renovated this site, essentially demolishing everything and creating a new site from scratch. By handling all stages of the project with the utmost care and precision, we can ensure that the site is safe, functional and attractive for our clients.
Throughout the process, we have recycled the excavated materials and will continue to do so as we put the finishing touches to the site, as sustainability is a big value for our company.
At the front of the retirement village, the progress of our team is evident as we have completed the front drive and entrance to the site. The site now has a beautiful gravel driveway entrance and is secured by retaining walls. As we explained in our last retirement homes project update, we did not build these walls too high to allow for safe visibility from the road and neighbouring properties. However, the size of the walls is also an aesthetic choice, as it does not overwhelm the paving and construction we have done to the site.
Around the residential retirement homes, we have finished the timber fencing which provides security and also increases visual appeal. The site is secured with a metal gate and the timber fencing is consistent throughout, creating a sense of privacy for each home.
At this stage in our retirement homes project update, the retirement village is still a working building site, so there are some raw materials and unfinished surfaces present which we maintain to keep them organised and safe.
Completed Homes And Driveways
Most of the retirement homes have now been installed and set in place, but we are awaiting delivery of another two before it will be complete.
To accommodate these future deliveries, paving corners have been left unfinished at this stage as this ensures safe access to the designated spots. Once the homes have been installed, we will finish the paving and curbing across the site.
Porcelain Paving
Most of the homes are ready as they are fitted with steps, driveways and surrounding paving. All steps and footpaths have been installed using our beautiful London Stone Candela Grey Porcelain, which provides a sleek, modern appearance. Porcelain paving is an elegant surfacing solution that is also low maintenance, ensuring the residents will be able to upkeep the attractive appearance of their homes throughout the year.
Marshalls Brickwork
To complement this modern hardscaping and create a cohesive appearance to the retirement village, all brickwork has been constructed using Marshalls, which is a leading supplier. The brickwork, walls and surroundings are done in Marshallite Grey, which creates a beautiful contrast to the lighter porcelain paving and aligns with the grey colour scheme of the housing.
The homes will also be fitted with small, private driveways in the same material to ensure easy access for homeowners. A footpath will be completed around the site, leading to each home and creating a secure entrance for the units.
